The programme BA Malayalam, offered through distance mode will be closely aligned with the vision and mission of the higher education sector, in vowing to ensure knowledge-based, student-focussed, and quality and cost-conscious but socially responsible education. BA Malayalam will be a feeder programme for the MA Malayalam programmes offered by various universities and colleges at the national and state levels. The programme follows the same syllabus and curriculum as offered in the regular mode through the affiliated colleges of the state, adapted to suit the distance mode of teaching.
  1. To facilitate the development of communication skills in Malayalam.
  2. To enable learners to explore literary works in Malayalam.
  3. To equip the students with critical tools necessary to enrich Malayalam textual
  4. interpretation.
  5. To acquaint them with the different genres, styles, concepts and literary devices needed
  6. for an appropriate understanding of literary texts.
  7. To impart skills to critically evaluate and appreciate subtle nuances of literary works, and
  8. to extend this ability to other cultural and artistic forms.
  9. To provide career opportunities in teaching, creative writing, editing, translation, proofreading, etc.
