The BA Political Science program is designed to produce graduates well-versed in applying political concepts to real-world socio-political issues. The program is organized on a semester basis, consisting of 6 semesters over 3 years. Learners need to complete all required courses for a total of 132 credits. They must complete seven Discipline Core (DC) courses, three Discipline Specific Elective (DSE) courses from two given options, four Ancillary Courses(AN), two core courses in English and Modern Indian Langauges (MIL), two Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AEC), two Skill Enhancement Courses (SE), one Skill Enhancement Compulsory Course (SC), two Generic Elective (GE) courses from the pool defined by disciplines other than their major subjects, and one Dissertation/Project course to fulfil the program requirements.
Learners of the Undergraduate Programme in Political Science will possess a deep understanding of political structures and processes. They will be able to critically evaluate political theories, conduct independent research, and apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations. Learners will be proficient in articulating informed perspectives on domestic and international political issues, demonstrating strong analytical and communication skills. They will be equipped for careers in public service, law, academia, journalism, and international organizations, contributing to informed and effective governance and civic engagement.
