The M.Com programme offers an advanced understanding ofbusiness and financial concepts, designed to build on undergraduate knowledge.The programme is organized on a semester basis and spans four semesters overtwo years. To earn the degree, learners must complete all required courses fora total of 72 credits. Learners have the opportunity to earn an extra 8 creditsby successfully completing 2 courses under the Cross Border Discipline, whichare over and above the approved courses for the admitted programme. The curriculumcovers key areas such as advanced accounting, financial management, strategicmanagement, taxation, business analytics, and corporate governance. Graduateswill be well-prepared for careers in academia, research, and high-levelpositions in business and finance, as well as for further studies andprofessional certifications. The learner has to complete the following courses:
· Twelve Discipline Core (DC) courses
· Three Discipline Specific Elective (DE) courses from thestream selected by the learner (out of two streams offered)
· Two Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AE) which areDiscipline Specific (DS) and Institution Specific (IS)
· Two Skill Enhancement Compulsory Courses (SE)
· One Dissertation/Project Work (DP).
· The learners are allowed to presume two courses of study inany two disciplines as Cross Border Discipline
Towardsthe end of the Master of Commerce (M.Com) programme, learners will be able to:
- Develop familiarity with the fields where the commercial knowledge acquired can be applied and gain the skills required to deliver the results expected to be successful in their chosen career paths.
- Acquire conceptual and theoretical clarity to analyze complex business and financial issues and generate strategic solutions to address them.
- Develop expertise in new-generation courses such as business analytics
- Cultivate a critical spirit and the ability to conduct independent research in the field of commerce and finance.
- Successfully prepare for and write competitive examinations to secure respectable positions in government, public, or private sectors.
